Commercial Director for Miami, Latin America and the Caribbean

Alexandre Cavalcanti is American’s Director of Commercial for Miami, Latin America and the Caribbean. In his role, Alexandre oversees the airline’s commercial strategy and performance across its largest international gateway, Miami along with more than 90 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Alexandre joined the airline 25 years ago and, since then, has held leadership position in different strategic areas throughout the company, both in Brazil and in the U.S. In 2019, Alexandre became American’s Sales Director for Brazil. Prior to assuming this role, he worked from the airline’s headquarters in Dallas- Fort Worth, leading Sales for U.S. markets. Most recently, he served as Sales & Alliances Director for South America.

Cavalcanti holds an MBA from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets (Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais-Ibmec) and a certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Sloan) in Strategy and Innovation.
